In this new episode of our Inside Giving podcast, you’ll hear the amazing story of NCF giver Kim King, a Houston legal executive whose small error online led to a big opportunity.
It all started on a normal day at Kim's office. She was on her lunch break when she received an unusual call. “Hello, Kim! This is David Gallagher, CEO of Open Arms International, calling from Kenya,” said the elated voice on the other end. “I am just calling to thank you for your incredibly generous gift to our ministry. I can’t tell you how much this gift means to us, and how it is such an answer to prayer.”
The day before, she had logged into her Giving Fund and recommended what she thought was a $2,500 grant to Open Arms. She thought to herself, “Wow, $2,500 must go a long way in Kenya.” But the more she reflected on David call, the more uneasy she became. Something just wasn’t adding up. It was only a few minutes before Kim found out that her grant was far more – 100 times more! – than the amount she intended.
Little did she know that typing a comma instead of a decimal would make such a huge difference in so many lives, but it served as a powerful reminder of God's faithfulness and His greater plan.
